When we begin to see and trust the Good Shepherd looking at us with a loving gaze, we can become so anchored in his love that we can begin to let go of our control over everything. Indeed, receiving and growing in God’s love is part of what makes it possible for us to shift from living primarily for ourselves to living primarily for God and others. You still matter, but you’re less bent out of shape when things don’t go the way you would like when you are overflowing with the joy of knowing God’s love and mercy following you all the days of your life. When you are living from a life without lack, you have much to give to others.

BIG IDEA QUESTION: Why is harder to live for others or God rather than living for ourselves?
